QR Codes
FreeAvailable on all plans
What are QR Codes?
Every short link you create on AWSYS.CO automatically gets a QR code. When someone scans the code with their phone camera, they land on the same destination as the short link — going through the same redirect logic, including analytics tracking, geo-routing, and click limits. QR codes are ideal for print materials, signage, product packaging, and events.
Requirements
QR code generation is available on all plans including the free tier. There are no additional prerequisites — you just need at least one short link created.
Step-by-step: Download a QR code
- Go to your Dashboard and find the short link you want a QR code for.
- Click the link row to expand its detail panel, or click the QR icon in the actions column.
- A preview of the QR code appears in the panel. The code encodes the full short URL (e.g.,
https://awsys.co/abc123). - Click Download PNG to save a high-resolution PNG suitable for print. Click Download SVG for a vector version.
- For links on a custom domain, the QR code automatically uses your branded domain URL instead of the default awsys.co domain.

Common questions
Does scanning a QR code count as a click?
Yes. Each scan is counted as a click and tracked in your analytics, including the device type, country, and referrer (showing as "QR scan" when detectable).
Can I customise the QR code color or add a logo?
Currently AWSYS.CO generates standard black-and-white QR codes. Custom branded QR codes (color, logo overlay) are planned for a future release.
Will the QR code still work if I change the destination URL?
Yes. The QR code encodes the short link, not the destination. If you update the destination URL, existing QR codes automatically point to the new destination without any reprinting.
What if the link has a click limit?
QR scans count toward the click limit just like regular clicks. When the limit is reached, scanning the QR code shows the same limit-reached page as clicking the link directly.
